Farming in Iowa

Iowa is corn and soybeans corner to corner, from Mason City, Fort Dodge, Spencer and Sioux Center in the north-central and northwest counties to the hills around Creston and Ottumwa in the south. Strip-till, cover crops, manure application and seed corn all want the same lines year after year, and cattle feeding in the northwest adds a lot of silage and manure passes to the list of jobs that need a straight line.

Iowa farms run a mix of late-model John Deere and Case IH tractors with factory steer-ready wiring and older tractors that have never had a receiver on the roof. The AS2 steer-ready kit plugs straight into the newer planter tractors. The AT2 motor kit brings the older planter, sprayer and grain cart tractors up to the same sub-inch accuracy, and the AH2 hydraulic kit covers the 4WDs and anything else with a steering valve.

A kit ships to Iowa in about three business days from Lone Wolf, Oklahoma. Phone and remote-login support covers the install, the first calibration and the questions that come up when the planter rolls in April.
