Farming in Oklahoma

Winter wheat is the backbone of Oklahoma farming, from the Panhandle to the Red River, and a lot of it is grazed as wheat pasture before it ever sees a combine. Southwest Oklahoma, our home country around Altus, Hobart, Frederick and Lone Wolf in Kiowa County, is cotton and wheat, with sprigging, hay and cattle ground mixed in. The Panhandle around Guymon and Texhoma runs irrigated corn and wheat under pivots, and canola has worked its way into wheat rotations across the state. Drilling wheat straight, spraying without overlap and sprigging bermuda on the same lines are the jobs Oklahoma farmers put auto steer on first.

Older tractors are the rule in Oklahoma, not the exception. We put AT2 motor kits on 30- and 40-year-old John Deere, Case IH and International row-crop tractors every week, usually the one that pulls the wheat drill or the sprayer. Newer steer-ready tractors take the AS2 kit, which plugs into the factory steering wiring. Combines and swathers in the wheat belt, and the big 4WDs on air drills, get the AH2 hydraulic kit. If a tractor has a steering wheel, there is a kit for it.

Everywhere else in the state, a kit ships next business day, and we walk you through the install and first calibration by phone and remote login, in plain language, from people who run the same equipment you do.

RTK in Oklahoma

Every kit ships with an RTK plan. Most Oklahoma customers run on the GEODNET network, which needs no base station of your own; where coverage is thin we set you up with a V1 base station or StarNav. We check coverage at your farm before we quote, not after.
