Farming in Texas

Texas farming covers more ground than most countries. The South Plains around Lubbock is cotton and corn, the Panhandle around Amarillo, Hereford and Dumas runs corn, wheat and cotton under pivots, and the Rolling Plains around Vernon and Childress is dryland wheat and grain sorghum. The Blacklands between Hillsboro and Temple grow corn, wheat and cotton on heavy clay, the Coastal Bend around Corpus Christi and Victoria is grain sorghum and cotton, and the Rio Grande Valley is vegetables and sugarcane. Along the Red River we are practically neighbors.

What we put auto steer on here

Big acres and long rows mean a lot of articulated 4WD tractors, high-horsepower row-crop tractors and self-propelled sprayers in Texas, and most of those take the AH2 hydraulic kit or the AS2 steer-ready kit. The AT2 motor kit goes on older tractors, the John Deere, Case IH and Ford models that still plant and strip-till a lot of Texas cotton, and on the tractors pulling the module builder or the shredder behind the stripper. Cotton strippers and pickers can run autosteer too; ask us about the hydraulic setup.

Every kit ships with an RTK plan. Most Texas customers run on the GEODNET network, which needs no base station of your own; where coverage is thin we set you up with a V1 base station or StarNav. We check coverage at your farm before we quote, not after.
