East River South Dakota, from Mitchell, Huron and Watertown to Brookings and Sioux Falls and down the James River valley, is corn and soybeans. West River around Pierre, Wall and Philip is winter and spring wheat, sunflowers and millet, mostly no-till, with a lot of hay and pasture in between. Two very different kinds of farming, and both want straight passes.

West River is drills and swathers, where the AH2 hydraulic kit on 4WDs, swathers and no-till drill tractors is the usual install. Combines run the hydraulic kit too.
